It all began in 1995, Women Involved in Community Action was founded by Alma Peace-Bullock. Members of the organization consisted of concerned citizens and leaders in the community sharing the same mission: "Seeking Unity and Care In the Community Through Education.
The non profit organization is
located in Oxford, North Carolina, Granville County in the Oak Hill township. They received their 501(3)c status in 2002 and set out to start "Project Heritage House". However, prior to moving into their home base building formerly known as Oak Hill Lounge, a suspious fire destoryed and delayed the Heritage House project.
